Bharat Bible College is an indigenous evangelical institution devoted to equipping Indian Christian youth for evangelism and church planting across the Indian subcontinent. The College was formally inaugurated on July 15, 1969, marking the beginning of a vision that continues to shape lives and generations in India and beyond.
The College stands as the fruit of the burden and divine calling entrusted to its founder, the late Dr. Jeevaratnam Buraga. Over the past four decades and beyond, God has graciously raised a global fellowship of friends and partners who faithfully uphold this ministry through prayer and generous support.
Located in the village of Dabilpur in the Rangareddy District of Andhra Pradesh, the campus rests along National Highway 7, just north of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Positioned midway between the highway and the Dabilpur railway station, the College is strategically situated at the heart of a vibrant and growing region.
The surrounding field presents immense opportunities for outreach. Within a 10 kilometre radius lie more than 35 villages, each representing a community ready to hear the Gospel. Through Trinity Baptist Church on campus, the vision is to establish a Sunday School and a local church in every one of these villages. By God’s grace, congregations have already been planted in Jeedimetla (the former campus church), Medchal, Athvelly, Ravalkol, Kandlakoya, Yamjal, Yapral, and Srirangavaram.
The call to reach India’s millions with the message of Christ is both a solemn responsibility and a sacred privilege entrusted to Indian believers. Bharat Bible College exists to prepare born-again youth for this noble mission. Today, more than 3,000 graduates serve faithfully across India, Myanmar, Africa, the Middle East, and the United States as pastors, evangelists, teachers, educators, and Christian leaders. Their service stands as a living testimony to the enduring relevance of this ministry and to God’s abundant grace upon it.
The College was founded with a deep conviction: that the Church must remain steadfast in the faith once delivered to the saints. In a time when the clarity of the Gospel is often challenged, Bharat Bible College seeks to serve as an instrument in God’s hands—calling the Church back to the authority of Scripture and to its primary mission of world evangelization.
With humility yet unwavering conviction, the College remains committed to defending the historic Christian faith. Theologically, it is Fundamental, Baptistic, and Pre-Millennial. Its programme is Bible-based, Christ-centred, and ministry-oriented. The twin objectives of the College are evangelization and church planting, guided by its motto:
“For the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ” (Revelation 1:9).
Bharat Bible College strives to cultivate consecrated Christian leadership—leaders who will faithfully serve the Church in India and beyond. It is our calling to proclaim the Gospel to our fellow Indians and to safeguard the faith and spiritual freedom of future generations. Therefore, the College gladly embraces every opportunity for fellowship and cooperation in the Gospel with all who sincerely love the Lord Jesus Christ and seek to make Him known.
